In March 2024, China National Five Rings Engineering Co., Ltd. signed a total contract exceeding 1 billion euros with the Nasser Intermediate Chemicals Company (NCIC) in the Ain Sukhna Industrial Zone, Suez Governorate, Egypt, for the third phase of the NCIC fertilizer project. The project will produce synthetic ammonia, urea, and ammonium phosphate using natural gas and phosphate rock as raw materials.
