[Project Background] The Atyrau Refinery in Kazakhstan is one of the country's three major refineries. It has a long history but suffers from aging equipment, and its product quality does not meet Euro V standards. The deep conversion revamp project aims to construct new hydrocracking units, significantly increase the yield of light oil products, and simultaneously produce clean gasoline and diesel that comply with Euro V standards.

[Role of the Chinese Enterprise] Sinopec Engineering & Construction Corporation (SEEC) participated in the EPC project for the deep conversion revamp of the Atyrau Refinery. It provided engineering design and construction services for hydrocracking, hydrogen production, or supporting units, introducing Sinopec's engineering technology into the field of refinery upgrading in Kazakhstan.

[Scope of Services] L4 EPC lump-sum turnkey contract, covering the engineering design, equipment procurement, and construction of hydrocracking units or related deep conversion facilities.
