【Project Background】The Kazan region in Turkey possesses abundant natural trona deposits. The owner, Ciner Group, is Turkey's leading energy and chemical enterprise. This project aims to build a large-scale natural trona production base utilizing local mineral resources, with products primarily used in industries such as glass manufacturing, papermaking, and textiles.

【Role of Chinese Enterprises】China Chemical TCC (TCC) undertook this project via an EPC+F (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction plus Financing) model, providing comprehensive services including process technology, engineering design, equipment procurement, construction, and project financing arrangements. The owner is the Turkish Ciner Group.

【Project Achievements】Upon completion, the project became one of the world's largest natural trona plants, with an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons of natural trona and 200,000 tons of baking soda. On March 22, 2021, Mr. Wang Lei, Deputy General Manager of TCC, signed the final acceptance certificate on behalf of the company in Istanbul with the owner. The project achieved full production capacity, with all indicators fully meeting contract requirements. The project has been selected as a typical international chemical project under China's 'Belt and Road' Initiative.

【Significance】The natural trona process technology independently developed by TCC represents a world first. This case serves as a landmark example of the overseas expansion of Chinese chemical technology and stands as a model for the successful application of the EPC+F model in China's chemical engineering sector.
