Located in the Karabatan area of the National Petrochemical Industrial Park in Atyrau Oblast, it aims to develop the ethylene-polyethylene industrial chain by utilizing ethane resources.

Role of Chinese Enterprises Sinopec Refining & Petrochemical Engineering Group and Spain's Tecnicas Reunidas (TR) signed an EPC general contract for the ethane cracking project in September 2024. The consortium contract totals approximately $2.5 billion, with Sinopec holding a 50% stake.
