【Project Background】Zambia has long relied on imported fertilizers, which has constrained agricultural development. The Zambia United Capital (UCFCL) invested in building the country's first large-scale modern fertilizer plant, a project receiving high priority from the Zambian government.

【Role of Chinese Enterprises】China Engineering Corporation (a subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Group) undertook the project as the EPC general contractor, providing full-process services ranging from engineering design and equipment procurement to construction.

【Project Progress】In May 2025, the project's main substation completed the 33kV high-voltage power supply, marking the completion of the core power hub construction. The project team completed the laying of approximately 20,000 meters of cable and over 300 preventive tests within three months. The construction period created approximately 2,500 job opportunities for the local community.

【Significance】This is the first fertilizer EPC project in Sub-Saharan Africa undertaken by a Chinese engineering company, holding significant demonstrative value.
