The company holds over 20 qualifications including Class A comprehensive engineering design qualification and engineering supervision qualifications for petrochemical and petroleum projects. In 2022, it obtained the Grade A general contracting qualification for petrochemical engineering construction. Its main business covers fields such as engineering design and general contracting. It is a national high-tech enterprise with a national enterprise technology center.

The company's technologies such as MTG, phenol acetone, TDI, and methanol production from coke oven gas are internationally leading. It possesses core technologies including the comprehensive utilization process of crushed coal pressurized gasification synthesis gas. Its "Comprehensive utilization process of crushed coal pressurized gasification synthesis gas for methanol synthesis, gasoline production, liquefied natural gas, and tar deep processing" won the Silver Medal of the 23rd China Patent Award (the related technology in 2022 also won the Silver Medal of China Patent). The Hainan Yangpu Port Oil Products Terminal project it participated in received the Zhan Tianyou Award of China Civil Engineering. The JM-S smokeless lump coal gasifier developed by the company has shown significant application effects, and in 2025, the proprietary equipment for the country's largest single-set nitric acid plant (1200 tons/day) was successfully shipped.

In overseas markets, the company signed an EPC contract for Indonesia's green methanol project. In 2024, the KAN nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plant it constructed in Indonesia was successfully put into operation. In the same year, the EPC general contracted Xinjiang Xinye Energy Chemical 200,000 tons/year BDO project was successfully handed over. As the supporting unit of the National Coal Chemical Information Center, the company ranked 71st in the 2024 China Petroleum and Chemical Top 500 (some rankings list it as 73rd), and completed more than 70 pioneering projects including the country's first coal-based methanol-to-oil project.
