Anshan Iron and Steel Group Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (registered address: No. 187, South Zhonghua Road, Tiandong District, Anshan City, Liaoning Province) is a state-owned high-tech enterprise wholly owned by Anshan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. The company positions itself as a full-lifecycle service provider for metallurgical engineering, focusing on the green, intelligent, and low-carbon transformation and upgrading needs of the iron and steel industry. Its business scope covers engineering consulting, engineering design, engineering procurement and construction (EPC) contracting, intelligent equipment R&D, industrial software development, and digital delivery. The company was formerly the Anshan Iron and Steel Group Design Institute, established in 2004, completed its corporate system reform in 2021, and has been included in the State Council’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) “Double Hundred Action” comprehensive reform pilot program. It serves as the supporting unit for the branch center of the “National Enterprise Technology Center” certified by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and is among the first batch of Liaoning Province’s “Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative” (Zhuan Jing Te Xin) small- and medium-sized enterprises and engineering research center construction units. Its core business targets the entire process of ferrous metal smelting and rolling industries, with key services covering new construction and technological upgrades of blast furnace–basic oxygen furnace–continuous casting–rolling systems. It has also deeply expanded into mining engineering, energy and environmental protection (e.g., sintering flue gas desulfurization and denitrification, precision desulfurization of blast furnace gas, waste heat and waste energy recovery), and intelligent manufacturing (digital twin factories, AI-based visual quality inspection, unmanned overhead crane scheduling systems). Its core technical capabilities include: an intelligent blast furnace longevity diagnostic system based on multi-source heterogeneous data fusion; an AI-powered online surface defect recognition platform for cold-rolled strip steel (deployed at Angang Shares’ 2130 Cold Rolling Plant); and a three-dimensional collaborative design and BIM lightweight delivery platform for metallurgical engineering. The company holds 137 valid invention patents, 328 utility model patents, and 156 software copyrights, and has led the formulation of national and industry standards including the “Design Code for Coke Oven Gas Hydrogen Production Projects in Iron and Steel Enterprises” (YB/T 4985–2022). It possesses Class-A comprehensive engineering design qualifications, Class-A credit rating for engineering consulting firms (metallurgical specialty), Special Equipment Design License (pressure pipelines, categories GA/GC), ISO 9001/14001/45001 management system certifications, and Class-B qualification for classified information system integration. Representative projects include the overhaul project of Blast Furnace No. 2 (5,500 m³) at Angang Bayuquan Base; the intelligent upgrade project of the 1,780 mm hot strip mill unit at Benxi Iron and Steel Plate Co., Ltd.; the Phase II EPC general contracting project for HS1 Steelworks of Hoa Phat Group in Vietnam (including independently developed MES + Level-2 process control system); and the intelligent transformation project for two 180-ton converters at El Hadjar Integrated Steel Complex in Algeria (achieving full-package export of domestically developed Level-3 process control systems). Its international business spans 12 countries across Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa; all overseas projects are executed by domestic entities and subject to supervision by China’s Ministry of Commerce.
