Xiangyang Da'an Automobile Testing Center Co., Ltd. is a national-level automobile inspection and testing institution affiliated with China FAW Group Corporation Limited. Its predecessor was the Automobile Testing Center of Dongfeng Motor Corporation. In 2003, it completed institutional integration and was renamed. It is currently an organization certified by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) under the CMA (China Metrology Accreditation) system, approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) as the National Automobile Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Xiangyang), and designated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) as a testing institution for the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products.” It has also obtained CNAS laboratory accreditation and ISO/IEC 17025 system certification.  

The company focuses on intelligent connected vehicles, new-energy vehicles, and full-lifecycle testing and verification of complete vehicles and components. Its core business covers complete vehicles, engines, power batteries, electric drive systems, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), in-vehicle chips, and V2X communication modules. It has established comprehensive test bases including a high-speed oval track, a fully covered intelligent connected vehicle closed test site enabled by 5G+V2X, an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) laboratory, a high-voltage safety laboratory, a power battery safety laboratory, and a hydrogen fuel cell testing platform, covering a total area exceeding 600,000 square meters.  

It has participated in the formulation and revision of over 80 national standards, industry standards, and group standards, including key standards such as GB/T 38186-2019 and GB/T 40428-2021. Its client base includes OEMs such as FAW, Dongfeng, BYD, NIO, XPeng, Li Auto, Geely, and Great Wall, as well as leading component and technology enterprises including Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), EVE Energy, Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solution Business Unit (Huawei Car BU), and Horizon Robotics. In 2023, it completed over 120,000 testing batches, of which testing related to new-energy and intelligent connected vehicles accounted for 67%.  

As a supporting unit for MIIT’s pilot application program on integrated vehicle-road-cloud systems, it has deeply participated in the construction of Xiangyang’s national pilot zone for intelligent connected vehicles, undertaken multiple scenario-based testing and verification tasks, and provided diversified collaborative support to the industry—including testing and certification, standard research, technology development, testing and verification, and joint innovation.
