China Energy Group Coal Coking Co., Ltd. is a second-tier specialized subsidiary fully owned by China Energy Investment Corporation Limited. Established in December 2019, the company is registered in Wulanmulun Town, Yijinholo Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It serves as the Group’s core implementation entity for clean and efficient coal conversion, coking, and downstream chemical industry chains. Its core businesses include coking coal washing, coke production, comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas, deep processing of coal tar, and purification of crude benzene, focusing on an integrated, low-carbon, circular development pathway spanning “coal–coke–chemicals.” Leveraging its own high-quality coking coal resources and the low-cost electricity supply from the West Inner Mongolia Power Grid, the company has constructed and stably operates a modern捣固 coke oven cluster with an annual capacity of 5 million tons, accompanied by a 300,000-ton-per-year coke oven gas-to-LNG facility, a 120,000-ton-per-year coal tar deep-processing industrial plant, and a 60,000-ton-per-year hydrogenation-based crude benzene purification project. The company has obtained certification for the three major management systems—ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001—and holds all statutory licenses, including the Work Safety Production License, the National Industrial Product Production License (Coke), and the Pollution Discharge Permit. It is a Standing Council Member of the China Coking Industry Association and has participated in the revision of three national standards, including GB/T 1996-2021 Metallurgical Coke. The company has established the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region-level “Coal Coking Low-Carbon Technology Engineering Research Center” and jointly operates laboratories with the Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shanxi), and China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing). It holds 17 authorized invention patents; its integrated technology—“SDA semi-dry desulfurization + SCR denitrification for coke oven flue gas”—has been implemented across the entire plant, and the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of coke is below 110 kgce. In 2024, the company produced 4.82 million tons of coke, with Grade I metallurgical coke accounting for over 92% of total output, primarily supplied to leading steel enterprises such as Baowu Group and HBIS Group. Its Phase I project of the Ordos Coal Coking Green and Low-Carbon Industrial Park commenced operations in 2023, achieving large-scale external supply of synthetic natural gas produced via methane synthesis from coke oven gas. Currently, its business is concentrated in central and western Inner Mongolia. Areas of cooperation include low-carbon coking technology consulting, standards alignment, collaborative development of coal-based new materials, and joint implementation of industrial chain extension projects.
