Dalian University of Technology Luoyang Institute is a new type of research and development institution established in 2019 as a public institution jointly built by Dalian University of Technology and the Luoyang Municipal People’s Government. Its registered address is No. 263, Kaiyuan Avenue, Luolong District, Luoyang City, Henan Province. The institute is under the administration of the Luoyang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and is positioned as a regional science and technology innovation platform serving Luoyang’s development as a sub-provincial central city and key industries including advanced equipment manufacturing, new materials, intelligent agricultural machinery, and bearings. The institute focuses on scientific research, technological development, achievement transformation, talent cultivation, and enterprise incubation; it does not engage in product manufacturing or sales, nor does it possess a market-oriented corporate legal status. Leveraging Dalian University of Technology’s disciplinary strengths in mechanical engineering, materials science, control science, and chemical engineering, the institute has assembled four technical teams specializing in intelligent equipment, advanced materials, green chemical engineering, and industrial software. It has established platforms including the Luoyang Key Laboratory of Intelligent Equipment and Robotics and the Henan Provincial Joint Laboratory for Tribology and Reliability of High-End Bearings (co-established). As of 2024, the institute has undertaken over 30 vertical research projects, including sub-tasks under China’s National Key R&D Program, major provincial science and technology special projects of Henan Province, and Luoyang’s “open challenge” projects; signed over 80 horizontal technical contracts; and collaborated with local leading enterprises such as CITIC Heavy Industries, Yituo Group, ZYS Technology, and AVIC Optoelectronics. It has achieved multiple applied outcomes in fields such as bearing surface strengthening, intelligent electronic control systems for agricultural machinery, and digital twin modeling for industrial processes; obtained authorization for 15 invention patents and 22 software copyrights; attained ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification; and led the formulation of the group standard “General Technical Specification for Intelligent Tractor Operation Control Systems” (T/CAMET 00012—2023). The institute offers diversified cooperation modes—including commissioned technological R&D, achievement transformation and implementation, co-establishment of joint laboratories, collaborative talent cultivation, and joint standard development—with local governments, scientific research institutes, and manufacturing enterprises.
